3. Family and Hometown（家庭家乡）
3.1 Could you tell us something about your family?
I have a warm and harmonious family. There are three members in my family, my father, my mother and I. As an engineer, my father is very responsible and helpful. What he always tells me is that we should be warm-hearted. Because of his words, I always participate in various charity activities in the community. My mother is a teacher. When I encounter some problems, she always gives me some useful suggestions and solutions, which helps me to be a person who can solve problems effectively. This is my family. I am very grateful to my parents for their support and upbringing. And I will repay them in the future.

我有一个温馨和睦的家庭。我家有三口人，父亲、母亲和我。作为一名工程师，我的父亲是非常负责任和乐于助人的。他经常和我说的就是我们要成为一个热心肠的人。因为他的话，我经常参加社区的各类慈善活动。我的母亲是一位老师，当我遇到困难的时候，她总会给我有用的建议和解决办法。这使我成为一个能高效解决问题的人。这就是我的家庭。我十分感激父母亲对我的支持和养育。将来我一定会回报他们。
3.2 Which of your family members influences you most?
Well, as for this question, I think that should be my father. There are two reasons. First of all, my father is the backbone of my family. He works hard to support our family. I am impressed by his personality of responsibility, which allows me to be responsible in my study and life. Secondly, my father is an active man. When he meets some tough things, he can calm down and solve them with a positive attitude instead of complaining them. With the influence of him, I become a sunny person and also face difficulties with an optimistic attitude.
你的家庭成员中谁对你影响最大?

3.3 Could you tell us something about your hometown?

Thousands of tourists come here every year.

The people there are very honest and courageous. During the Anti-Japanese War, they tried their best to help the Red Army and successfully defended our hometown. 3.4 What’s famous in your hometown?
My hometown Zhengzhou is the capital and largest city of Henan Province in the central part of China. It serves as the political, economic, technological, and educational center of the province, as well as a major transportation hub in China, including highway, railway, aviation, communication. The Zhengzhou metropolitan area is the core area of the Central Plains Economic Zone. Zhengzhou also maintains abundant cultural heritages that reflect its glorious history as well as the culture of Henan Province, as one of the Eight Ancient Capital Cities and one of the birthplaces of Chinese Civilization, and the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor.
